Highlights NCA vs Gonzaga
Tim Chialastri of capitolhoops.com recently caught up with Class of 2010 point forward Will Barton after coming off a dominating summer and solidifying himself as a Top 20 national prospect in the junior class. Will is an extremely talented wing , that can play the point and is just a flat out scorer. Best of luck to Will Barton this season and his family as well.

| Will Barton 6'5" PG / SG Class Of 2010 |
Capitol Hoops - First of all let everyone know who you will be suiting up for this summer and is reclassifying an option?
Will - No , I am still in the Class of 2010 and I will be attending Lake Clifton HS in Baltimore , MD
Capitol Hoops - What are you doing to prepare for the upcoming season?
Will - I am in the gym daily , running up and down the floor conditioning myself , getting up lots of shots and just working on being a complete player.
Capitol Hoops - In order to become the complete player that you want to be , is there anything in particular that your working on , maybe a weakness that you are trying to improve?
Will - Right now I am really focusing on my
foot speed. Offensively I'm pretty good , but I am really focusing on
getting quicker , stronger and faster so that I can make an impact
offensively and defensively.
Capitol Hoops - You are coming off a phenomenal summer , talk a little about who's recruiting you and where you stand in the process so far?
Will - Maryland , Indiana , Kentucky , Georgetown , Tennessee , Memphis , Louisville , West Virginia , Pittsburgh , Villanova , JMU , Virginia , Va Tech , Xavier , Syracuse and Marquette. Right now there are really no favorites , I'm really waiting for someone to make a strong push. I'm wide open and taking it day by day.
Capitol Hoops -
How has it been playing with Dante Taylor at National Christian Academy in Fort Washington , MD and will you miss his presence this year? Will - Yeah , that was my road dog , we still
keep in touch , with the technology nowadays I'll send him a text or him
to me. He committed to Pittsburgh University and their recruiting me
real hard , so he's trying to get me to come down there with him. He
taught me a lot , we joke and say we were like Kobe and Shaq but I miss
him and the whole NCA family.
Capitol Hoops -
Do you have any goals for the upcoming season? Will - My goal is to win , the City Championship , Regional Championship , State Championship and go undefeated. My brother Antonio Barton is one of the best point guard's out there and a lot of people sleep on him , but I believe we have the best team in Maryland.
Capitol Hoops -
Are there any classes that your taking to show colleges that you are a prime time athlete and a prime time student as well? Will - Yeah , I am
taking only classes that prepare me for college and a big help is SAT
Prep , which should really prepare me for college.
Capitol Hoops - If you had to choose a career other than basketball what could you see yourself doing a couple years from now?
Will - I would like to become a teacher , education is very important and is something that we all need in life.
Capitol Hoops - What subject would you teach?
Will - Lol , English.
Capitol Hoops - When we look back at your career , how is it that you would like to be remembered?
Will - More than anything I just want to be known as a good person , being respectful and polite to everyone because you never know how thing's will unfold. I also want to be known as a dominating basketball player.
Capitol Hoops - Here is the question that everyone on I-95 want to know. You played in DC , your played in Baltimore is there a difference?
Will - Not really , but if I had to choose I think DC players are more developed but Baltimore just has a big heart and they come at you every night. And maybe that's just the difference between public school and private but in public school they don't care if your ranked nationally like me , you just got to bring it because they scrap.
Capitol Hoops - Is there any players in the NBA that you study and try and learn from?
Will - I watch a lot of wing players because that is what I think I will be playing at the next level. Kobe Bryant , Kevin Durant , Joe Johnson and Jamal Crawford. I am not going to go home and watch Lebron because that's not my position.
Capitol Hoops - Who is your role model in life and why?
Will - My role model is my mom , Karen Brooks. She is a single mother , raising me and my brother and she does whatever she has to do to get us prepared for life. I've got a lot of respect for my mom and what she has done for me.
Capitol Hoops - Finish this sentence , when I'm not playing basketball I am.....
Will - Still working on my game.
