1st Annual Capitol Hoops All DMVJamboree Results

Capitol Hoops Press

The 1st Annual CapitolHoops.com All DMV Jamboree is in the books , let's jump straight into some of the top performers at this year's event. A special thanks goes out to Arize Ifejeka , Curtis Symonds of Hoop Magic , Eleanor Roosevelt High School and all of the particpants , coaches and judges that made this event possible.

Jordan Goodman , a 6'8" small forward (formerly Seneca Valley HS ) tallied 22 points and grabbed 9 rebs leading Team Swagger to a victory in the underclassman game and earning game MVP honors. Goodman has tremendous range for a 6'8" sophomore but seemed more aggressive last night scoring on some impressive dunks.

Grandy Glaze 6'6" PF 2011 - The St. John's Catholic Prep star turned in 36pts in a losing effort for Team Substance. The effort that Grandy plays with is second to none , and is the reason why several high majors are now on the recruiting trail. The Canada native is relentless on the boards and gets most of his points on tough put backs around the basket.

Lamont Huggins 6'8" PF 2011 - Huggings added 19 points and looks like a solid prospect from the class of 2011. Lamont also blocked five shots in the win.

RJ Williams 5'9" PG 2011 - RJ is clearly a floor leader with a good handle to go along with his leadership skills. Williams dished out a game high 9 assts in the loss. Williams is quick , can shoot the three and has a boatload of heart from St. Frances Acadmey.

Tion Coates 6'4" SF 2011
- Tion is an athletic power forward transitioning into the guard spot. Coates who played primarily power forward on his Gwynn Park High School team this year , showed some range scoring on a pair of jump shots but made his living on some athletic jams.

Tyler Hubbard 6'1" SG 2011 - Hubbard who's strength is shooting the rock , added 18 points in the win. The Montrose Christian sophomore is returning back to the confident shooter that he was last last summer when he knocked down six threes leading his MD Bulls over DC Assault.

Freshman Joe Lundy of Friendship Collegiate (13pts) and eight grade Paul VI recruit Stanley Robinson (10pts) added solid performances.

Jeremy Williams of Springbrook High School took home the 3pt shootout championship , and was later selected for a half court shot in which he drained without any help from the glass. Williams just couldn't miss last night as the becomes the 1st CapitolHoops.com ALL DMV 3pt champ.

Derrious Gilmore , a 5'10" senior point guard from Princeton Day Academy scored 22pts and dished out 7 assts leading Team Substance Upperclassman to a victory. Gilmore showed off his handle and stretched the opposing defense knocking down 4 three pointers on the night. Gilmore was the most impressive upperclassman taking home the game MVP in the process.

Another impressive point guard was Rodney Glasgow of Good Counsel HS who scored a game high 24pts. Glasgow showed is ability to score the ball , connecting off the dribble and from deep. The junior guard will play his AAU ball this summer with Mid-Atlantic Select.

Jonathan Arledje 6'9" PF 2010- Arledje has improved tremendously and is definitely a sleeper at the power forward spot.
The KIMA standout added 24pts for Team Swagger , has soft hands in the post and runs the floor well. Arledje also has one of the better FT percentages opposed to other bigs in his class. Arledje will be on the circuit with DC Assault this summer.

Dante Thomas 6'3" SG 2010
- The Ballou HS guard scored 24pts and showed why he led his DCIAA team to the City Title game this year. Thomas will play his AAU ball with God's Glory.

Antonio Jenifer 6'6" PF 2010 - Jenifer scored 25 points for Team Substance while nearly bringing down the rim on a monstrous dunk. Jenifer will join Dante on God's Glory this summer.

Javorn Farrell , despite entering the slam dunk contest two minutes before his dunk jumped over two people slamming one home. Farrell missed his attempt in the final round
and Stephan Manga capatilized on a high flying between the legs slam. Manga of Archbishop Carroll is the 1st Annual CapitolHoops.com All DMV Jamboree Slam Dunk Champ.
