2009 Area Top Recruiting Classes #1 Georgetown

John Thompson Jr. has put together yet another dynamite recruiting class and our  # 1 rated recruiting class in the area. If there is any question about where are top players in the area want to play  , that has definitely been cleared up. First of all the Hoyas landed the #1 overall recruit nationwide in the U.S. Greg Monroe. The 6'10 PF from Louisiana Select AAU is a projected All-American in the NCAA. Jason Clark 6'3" SG was the washingtonpost all met player of the year and capitolhoops.com VA MVP. Henry Sims a 6'10" C from Mt. St. Joseph's in Baltimore , MD and great shot blocker. Lastly Chris Braswell 6'8" PF  from Hargrave Miltary Academy in VA. All four recruits were highly sought after and all were nationally ranked players. (Video : Greg Monroe Highlights)

Roscoe Davis  ☆☆☆☆ Darryl Bryant ☆☆☆  Kevin Jones ☆☆☆☆

2009 Area Top Recruiting Classes #2 West Virginia

Coming in at the # 2 rated recruiting class is none other than the West Virginia Mountaineers coached by Bob Huggins. The mountaineers earned the # 2 spot when they landed  the highly recruited PF Kevin Jones. Jones is a 6'8" very slim athletic PF from Mount Vernon H.S. in NY , who is a very good rebounder and who will be an early contributor next season. Roscoe Davis from Hargrave Military Academy in VA is a local with alot of upside. At 6'10" he has the size to compete in the Big East but needs to develop his post-play. Darryl Bryant a 6'2" PG from St. Raymonds H.S. in the Bronx NY , is a tough physical guard with good court savvy. When you have recruits of this caliber it makes for a pretty interesting outlook for next year as the Mountaineers hope to advance to the elite -eight or further.

Bobby Maze ☆☆    Sean Moseley ☆☆☆☆  Gus Gilchrist ☆☆☆
2009 Area Top Recruiting Classes #3 Maryland U

Our # 3 rated recruiting class in the area Maryland Terps had a pretty solid recruiting campaign as they look to regain some power next season in the ACC. We must begin with Maryland's top recruit and our Maryland Player Of The Year Sean Moseley who averaged 27 ppg this season at St. Frances High School in Baltimore , MD. Sean's game is more of that old school feel , not flashy but very efficient. He is the type of player that will fit it great for the terps as a 6'4" SG. Gus Gilchrist is Maryland's big man and second highest recruit , a 6'10" PF from Progressive Christian Academy. Gus has the potential to be an immediate impact player next season. Maryland's final recruit came from Patterson JUCO , Bobby Maze a local from Suitland High School and former Oklahoma Sooner Guard. He is coming off of an All - American JUCO campaign scoring 24 ppg and dishing out 5 assists. Although he is the lowest rated recruit , he will be the only freshman that has college basketball experience and that should go along way for him.
