Will Barton Is A Star In The Making |
Lights , Camera Barton! 6'5" Will Barton a rising junior from National Christian Academy showcased his tremendous upside last night at the Pro City Summer League in DC. Barton was just shy of a triple double scoring 21pts , 12rebs and 6assts against defending WCAC champs Gonzaga. After speaking with Barton he updated us on his recruiting status drawing interest from Pitt , UMD , Villanova , UConn , Duke and Memphis. Dante Taylor a 6'8" PF was ferocious down low for National Christian as well and added 17pts. The Zags couldn't keep up losing by a score of 65-53 although junior guard Cedrick Lindsay chipped in 17pts. Gonzaga was without Ian Hummer and Tyler Thornton who would have made the game a lot closer. |

Rashad Whack led McNamara with 18pts |
McNamara Wins WCAC Battle In a conference battle the McNamara Mustangs defeated the Carroll Lions 43-40 in a game that could have went either way. Both teams battled it out with nine lead changes throughout the second half. It all came down to free throws and Junior guard Trask Ivey was clutch hitting both with 15 seconds left. Carroll still had one shot left that would have won the game but the officials determined that the shot came after time expired. Senior guard Rashad Whack was the most impressive player on the court scoring 18pts for McNamara. |

Max Lenox leads W.T. Woodson over Paul VI |
Lenox & W.T. Woodson def Paul VI When senior forward Stephen Stepka of W.T. Woodson went down with an ankle sprain early in the 1st half Max Lenox filled his team's shoes and then some. Erick Green an all-met transfer from Milbrook HS wasn't in action and it seemed as if none of the Panthers players had an answer for Lenox. The 6'1" guard became a floor leader controlling the tempo of the game and scoring 17pts. Max Lenox is not your flashy high major guard but rather a solid mid major , very efficient and a good outside shooter. W.T. Woodson connected on eight three point shots to lead them past Paul VI 51-45 at Coolidge High School. |

James Robinson Class 0f 2012 |
8th Grade Experience? When asked how does it feel playing varsity in 8th grade " I'm already used to it" said James Robinson of Dematha Catholic. On the AAU circuit Robinson already has experience playing the 17&U division for Pro City 3S Express and it is showing. James looked very comfortable on the court last night making smart basketball decisions. Robinson ended with 8 points and 5 assists against McKinley Tech of Washington DC. Dematha was led by senior guard Phillip Green who scored 15 points in the contest. |
