Devon Saddler
Week 8 Top Performer - Skylar Jones Jr.. Mount Vernon High School

 

6'4" junior small forward Skylar Jones of Mount Vernon High School hit the game winning shot Friday night in a win over Stuart High School 63-62. Jones scored a game high 24 points in the overtime victory. On Tuesday night Skylar scored a game high 29 points in a win over Wakefield High School and has now led his Mount Vernon team to a 16-4 record and a Top 25 appearance.

 

 

 

 
Devon Saddler
Week 7 Top Performer - Devon Saddler Sr. Aberdeen High School

 

In a win over Elkton High School 61-52 , senior guard Devon Saddler ( committed to Delaware ) scored a game high 23 points. Two days later 6'3" shooting guard torched C.M. Wright scoring a season high 40 points in a 78-55 victory for his Aberdeen High School of Chesapeake , MD. Aberdeen is currently 10-2 an playing some outstanding basketball right now.

 

 




 
Albert Thomas
Week 6 Top Performer - Albert Thomas Jr. Friendly HS Senior

 

Senior guard AJ Thomas was phenomenal last week in Prince Georges County Conference play. Thomas's hot play began Thursday as the 5'11" point guard notched a game high 27 points in a win over defending 3A State Champs Largo High School. AJ's consistency has earned him player of the week honors as that Friday in a win over Potomac HS Mr. Thomas then scored 27 points again. Friendly has an 11-1 record and is currently the #22 rated boys basketball team in the DC , MD and Virginia area.

 

 

 
Markel Starks
Week 5 Top Performer - Markel Starks Georgetown Prep Junior

 

Markel Starks , a 6'2" point guard by way of Georgetown Prep in Bethesda , Md. , led his Little Hoyas boys basketball team to a championship victory over Louisiana's Jesuit School. Starks scored 24 points in the championship game on 12/30/08 and 29 points in the semifinals in a win against Belen Jesuit of Florida on 12/29/08. Starks though a junior in high school , has verbally committed to Georgetown University. 

 

  

 

 
Brendan Bald 23.5ppg
Week 4 Top Performer - Brendan Bald Severna Park HS Senior

 

Brendan Bald , a 6'5" senior guard from Severna Park High School in Severna , MD led his team to two consecutive victories this week defeating Annapolis HS and Southern HS. Bald who is already committed to the University of Vermont , tallied a total of 47 points including his most recent 29 points against Southern High School.

 

  

 

Christian Webster 35.5ppg
Week 3 Top Performer - Raphael Guthrie Cardozo HS Senior

 

Senior Raphael Guthrie of Cardozo HS scored 31 points against Eastern High School on Tuesday 12/9/08. Then on Friday the 6'2" shooting guard scored a season high 40 points to extend the Washington , DC based high school to a 3-1 record in the DCIAA conference. Guthrie currently leads all players in scoring for the 2008-2009 season.

 

 

 

Christian Webster 35.5ppg
Week 2 Top Performer - Christian Webster Landon HS Senior

 

Senior Christian Webster of Landon HS scored 30 points against Haverford High School on Friday 12/5/08 to tip of the season for the Bethesda , MD based school. The next night the blazing hot Webster scored a whopping 41 points in a win over Germantwon Academy. The 6'5" shooting guard Christian Webster of Landon HS is Week Two's Top Performer.

 

 

 

 

Grandy Glaze 6'6" PF 27ppg
Week 1 Top Performer - Grandy Glaze St. John's Catholic Prep Sophomore

 

Sophomore Grandy Glaze scored 32 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in St. John's Catholic Prep MAIT tournament championship win over St. Paul's High School. Glaze scored a game high 22 points in the opening round game against Archbishop Carroll School and is currently averaging 27ppg. The super sophomore has led his high school to a 3-0 record to start the 2009-2009 season and has earned himself the capitolhoops.com Player Of The Week honors.
