Markel Starks to GU 2010

Markel Starks , the Class of 2010's #2 rated guard in the area made a huge commitment today while visiting the campus of Georgetown University. Starks becomes the first nationally ranked player from the Class Of 2010 to commit to the Hoyas.

Markel has a blazing hot summer on the AAU circuit for the DC Blue Devils traveling team catching drawing major interest Georgia , UConn , Stanford , Va Tech and Florida , all of whom he would recently pass up for coach John Thompson III. Starks biggest game came against the Dematha Stags in the Rock Semifinials this summer , scoring 25pts and dishing 6assts as Prep came up just short 73-70.

As a sophomore last season Starks averaged 18ppg and 7assts for Georgetown Preparatory School in Washington , DC.  

The 6'1" true point guard wows spectators with his flashy ball-handling skills and court awareness. The Big East has added another prime time player to their conference with the addition of Starks.
