James Robinson 6'1" PG Dematha Catholic

Capitol Hoops -  How has your summer been so far with Dematha and Coach Mike Jones seeing good minutes as an 8th grader?

James -  My summer has been great and it is an honor playing for Coach Jones and such an accomplished coaching staff.  They do a good job of preparing us before each game and we have performed well so far.

Capitol Hoops - Talk about winning the Rock Championship and the Nike Pro City Summer Leagues and having arguably the most dominating performance of any team this summer?

James - We are trying to establish ourselves as a dominant team in not just this area but in the nation. We are still trying to gel and have a lot of work to do. We want to represent this area well nationally.

Capitol Hoops - As you enter into your freshman year, what are you doing to improve on your game to compete at the varsity level?

James - The coaching staff has put together a program to help me get stronger, improve my all around game, and teaching me the DeMatha way of doing things.

Capitol HoopsWhat is it like playing along side such great players at Dematha such as Josh Selby and Naji Hibbert to name a few?

James -All of my teammates have helped me over the course of this summer.  I have been able to pick up on things they do well and I try to use some of their moves in the game

Capitol Hoops - What is your favorite subject in school and if you couldn't choose basketball as career what other field might you be interested in and why?

James - My favorite subject is science. If I could not choose basketball as a career I would like to be a sports reporter or journalist, working for a major network.

Capitol Hoops - Who are your top college choices and has anyone emerged as a leading candidate in your recruiting status?

James - I have not started to seek out any particular college yet.  For now, I will be working on my academics, and my game hopefully attracting a high level college.

Capitol Hoops - What are some of the deciding factors that will play a role in you picking a school to further your education?

James - I am looking for a school that has a strong basketball program.  As I get closer to deciding my career goals, I will look for schools that offer courses that will help me reach my goals.

Capitol Hoops - You are the youngest player to interview with us, from the class of 2012 , I know you have a long way to go and the sky is the limit for you but what you like to accomplish in your high school career and how would you like to be remembered?

James - I would like to maintain a honor roll GPA, have a positive affect on those around me, and be remembered as the guy who was prepared on the court and in the classroom

Capitol Hoops - What is your favorite NBA team / player?

James - Cleveland Cavaliers / LeBron James

Capitol Hoops - Who is your Role Model in life and why?

James - My parents are my role models.  They never let me get too down on myself or allow me to think I am better than anyone else.  They have taught me to enjoy everyday of my life because tomorrow is not promised.  They have done a great job surrounding me with great people knowing that if I follow their guidance I will also be successful in life.

Capitol Hoops -  Finish this sentence , when I am not playing basketball I am.........

James - Hanging out with my friends or playing video games.
