Jamal Olasewere with  Washington Shock AAU at Hoop Magic

Capitol Hoops -  How is your AAU season going so far and what is it like playing with Washington Shock?

Jamal -  Its going well the team is new and were jelling really quickly

Capitol Hoops - You are coming off of a phenomenal season at Springbrook in which you guys won the 4A Maryland State Championship. Do you think that you can possibly top a season like that?

Jamal - Of course, I feel with the team we have now we can definitely win another state championship and go undefeated.

Capitol Hoops - Springbrook has produced some great basketballball players in recent years , my close friend Folarin Campbell or as we call him "Shaq" , and also C.J. Garner. Do you feel pressured going in to your final year following behind these former players.

Jamal - I mean not at all.  Some people are always comparing me to them but I want to leave Springbrook with people saying Jamal did it his own way, he had his own type of game.

Capitol Hoops As you enter into your senior year , what are you doing to continue to improve on your game?

Jamal - I’m going to the gym and working on my jump shot and my ball handling and quickness.

Capitol Hoops - What is your favorite subject in school and if you couldn’t choose basketball as career what other field might you be interested in and why?

Jamal - Well in college I want to major in computer engineering because that’s a field my mom is in.

Capitol Hoops - Who are your top college choices and has anyone emerged as a leading candidate in your recruiting status.

Jamal - There’s Penn State , South Alabama, Radford, Siena , Boston Univ. and there has been some talk with Villanova, and Citadel, but right now there’s no leading candidate I’m just listening and taking in what they say.

Capitol Hoops - You are a very young senior , are you considering reclassifying to your correct grade in the class of 2010?

Jamal - No because I grew up with this class and I feel I can leave with this one.

Capitol Hoops - What is your favorite NBA team / player?

Jamal - My favorite NBA team is the Lakers but I love Amare Stoudemire.  His game is just filled with so much fire.

Capitol Hoops -  Who is your Role Model in life and why?

Jamal -  My role model would be my mother because she’s has just done so much for me in life and I am so thankful..

Capitol Hoops -  Finish the sentence , When I am not playing basketball I am..........

Jamal -  thinking about it.
