CJ Fair Chooses Syracuse University

On an unofficial visit to Syracuse University this weekend , the highly touted small forward Carl Fair Jr. gave the Orangeman a verbal commitment.

The 6'8" Fair , is currently our #8 best rated prospect in the very competitive Class Of 2010 rankings that stretch from the DC metro to Baltimore , MD. Fair Jr. averaged 20.3ppg last season as a sophomore for City College HS in the Baltimore City League Conference. City College HS finished the 2007-2008 season with a record of 19-4.

Baltimore and Syracuse University have quite a connection with high school basketball recruiting. Recently Carmelo Anthony (Towson Catholic) and  Donte Green (Towson Catholic) both NBA players respectively with the Denver Nuggets and Sacramento Kings.

Fair causes matchup problems for opposing teams with his long frame and wingspan at the guard position. At 6'8" his perimeter shot is nearly impossible to defend at the high school level , something that Fair has taken full advantage of. Coach Jim Boehim believes Carl will be a great fit for the Orangeman who went 21-14 in the 2007-2008 season. Fair tore his ACL this spring and hopes to be back on the hardwood by late December.

Syracuse University has already gotten a verbal commitment from junior standout Dion Waiters of Life Center HS in Philadelphia , Pa who's athleticism was on full display recently at the DMV vs Philly All Star Games. Fair will also join Kris Joseph (Carroll HS) who is set to begin his freshman season at "The Cuse."
