Chauncey Gilliam MD South Kings AAU
UMBC head basketball coach Randy Moore has announced that Chauncey Gilliam has signed a national letter of intent and will suit up this Fall 2008..

Chauncey a 6'4" 215lb shooting guard was recently selected Capitol Hoops April Dunk Of The Month for his big time slam at the Charlie Weber tournament a couple weeks ago. Chauncey promised we would let us know what college he was going to once he made a decision (UMBC Retrievers).

Gilliam attended Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H. where he averaged 6.2 points per game on a team which lost in the National Prep Championships semifinals to Hargrave Military Academy. The 2007-08 team, which featured eight players who will be attending Division I institutions this coming fall, captured the New England Class A Championship and advanced to the National Final Four, finishing with a school-record 31 victories (31-4).

Chauncey is a Columbia , MD kid who attended Hammond High School for two years and earned All Howard County honors in his sophomore season of 2004-05  .

 He later attended Leap Academy in Camden, N.J. in 2005-06 and 2006-07.  He captained the team in both years and helped the squad to a South Jersey title in 2006. In his senior season, Gilliam was named All South Jersey and All State and was nominated as a McDonald’s All American.
